Jeevitha to take on Roja

Vijayawada: It is going to be a one-to-one fight between the two top heroines of the Tollywwod in the 2009 elections. The Telugu Desam had roped in spicy Roja long back and had made her the party’s women wing president. It is now the turn of another heroine, Jeevitha, to test her fate from the Congress bandwagon. She had joined the party along with her actor husband, Dr Rajasekhar, who had expressed his willingness to contest against Chiranjeevi, if given a chance. The Congress leadership did not respond to the open offer given by Dr Rajasekhar, but it is highly considered to field Jeevitha against Roja in the next elections. Before that, the Congress leaders are also exploring the possibilities of making Jeevitha the right choice to head the party’s women wing – Mahila Congress – as that would help her to take on Roja. Roja has been going round the State as head of the Telugu Mahila and is fighting against the chain of liquor shops. The Congress, which claims to be implementing the liquor policy of the Telugu Desam government, is finding it tough to challenge Roja at that level. The Congress leaders believe that Jeevitha might turn the tables for Roja and expose the dual policies of the Telugu Desam. It is to be seen how Jeevitha will live up to the expectations of the Congress leaders in the State.
