MUMBAI, JULY 24: Controversy seems to follow the Big B wherever he goes this time it’s not the star who is in the eye of the storm but his forthcoming film Shoebite produced by UTV motion pictures.
Percept Picture company claims that they had registered a film with the same script but a different name Johhny Walker.
The Delhi High Court has now put a stay on the shooting of the film till August 3. "Court has given the decision in favour of Percept," said Shailendra Singh, MD, Percept Pictures.
The court has said the similarities between Shoebite and Johnny Walker cannot be missed. Even the name of Amitabh Bachchan’s character is the same in both films.
UTV Motion pictures said in an emailed statement that they would not like to clarify any of the speculations and that they had not yet received an injunction regarding the film.
This is not the first time the Big B and Percept Picture Company have clashed. Percept had questioned Bachchan’s deal with Reliance Entertainment saying that he would have been better off signing with them. It seems all’s fair in love, war and Bollywood.
