Sangeetha has always been known for her professionalism in Kollywood. But recently, the actress surprised one and all by her decision to get into a pond full of murky water and dirt for a song in the film Dhanam. The director of the film, it is believed, was a little hesitant at first to ask her to get into the pond in Kumbakonam as the place was unhygienic and as he was unsure if the actress had reservations about acting in such a place. However, to his surprise, he found the actress willing to act. Sources in the industry also say that the actress, who plays the role of a call girl in film, fell sick as a result of having to spend the night in the pond, despite the cold weather. Just as producers Kausalyarani and Govindaraj and director Siva were about to call off shooting for the next day as the scenes for that day couldn’t be shot without Sangeetha, the actress turned up for work despite not feeling well. Sources also indicate that as a result of the co-operation extended by her, the film could be completed on time. The movie, which is to hit the screens soon, also has Girish Karnad, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Ashish Vidyarthi, Rajalakshmi, Prem, Santhanabharathi, Chinni Jayanth and Karunas playing important roles in it. The music for the film has been scored by Illayaraja. The lyrics have been penned by Vaali, Mu Mehta, Vishali Kannadasan, Muthulingam and Pazhani Bharathi. | |
