Rumours are rife in media circles that Salman Khan is keen to promote his lady Katrina Kaif's keenly anticipated feature, 'Singh Is Kinng', and has invited her and Akshay Kumar to participate in his show, 'Dus Ka Dum'.
Salman's polite invitation to Akshay should quell any idle talk of a rivalry between the two stars. Kumar, who is shooting in

I never signed Sultan-Ileana
After much hoopla over Ileana being dropped from Rajnikanth’s Sultan, the actress is now denying ever being a part of the movie. While tabloids have gone into a tizzy writing about how the actress was dropped like a hot potato from the big project, Ileana has a different story to tell. She says, "When the contract was not signed at all, the question of them dropping me does not arise. I was never a part of Sultan, though they were holding talks with me, I was yet to sign on the dotted line."
What is intriguing though is that Ileana’s manager had confirmed that she was actually pulled out of the project. According to the star’s manager Giridhar, Ileana felt let down when the producer refused to pay even half her market price which is Rs 1 crore. "In Telugu films the producers are willing to pay 1.25 crore but she is choosy about her roles. Ileana was prepared to reduce her price slightly but Soundarya said the budget did not permit even that," said Giridhar.
Meanwhile, Vijaylakshmi, who bagged the role in Sultan is overjoyed to be working with Rajnikanth. "Never in my wildest dreams did I expect this," She says.
"Even after a day of shooting with superstar Rajinikanth in Hyderabad, the feeling is yet to sink in. I was overawed by his presence, but he was very kind and he put me at ease. He advised me to treat this like any other film and give it my best shot," she adds.

Vishal to debut as director with ‘Superman’
Vishal, the handsome hunk of Kollywood, is all set to wield the megaphone. In his first directorial venture, he will direct himself as an all-powerful ‘Superman’.
Udhayanidhi, producer of Vijay’s not-so-successful ‘Kuruvi’, for his next film, has approached Vishal. In all probability, Vishal will be playing two roles in the film, to be directed by his long-time friend Prithvi. Vishal and Prithvi had earlier worked as assistant directors under ‘action king’ Arjun. When queried whether Prithvi possessed the requisite experience, Vishal defended his friend saying a good script and a better way of narration can ensure the success of any film.
“I have so far done more than seven films; but ‘Sathyam’ has been the most taxing of all. I have put in tremendous hard work into the making of ‘Sathyam’, and we hope the film does well at the box-office” says Vishal. 800 prints have been ordered for ‘Sathyam’, which will be releasing shortly.
Harman Baweja turns cricketer?
In debutant director Ajit Pal’s film, Harman plays a professional cricketer and was pitched against real-life sports heroes.
Suffering from serious sunstroke, Harman said : "Earlier in Australia, I played with Brett Lee, Stuart Clark and Mike Hussey. I’d like to think I looked authentic enough playing with them.
He’s currently shooting with Ranji Trophy players like Mohammed Ahmed and Abhijeet Sharma.
"Now I’m playing with Rajasthan’s Ranji players. And I’m having a ball because although I’m playing a cricketer I’m playing for real. Man, you can’t fake it with these guys. And considering Rajasthan has just won the IPL (Indian Premier League), you can imagine how good these guys are at the game."
To ensure complete authenticity in the cricket scenes, former player Praveen Amre was deployed all through the shooting.
"Praveen Amre was part of the Indian team in the mid-1990s. We didn’t want to falter for even a bat of an eyelid, pun intended. Hence the expert advice," said Harman, who debuted with the futuristic Love Story 2050.
The cricket scenes being shot in Jodhpur show how Harman’s character evolves to become a star-cricketer.
"It’s the story of a cricketer Vijay Shekhawat’s rise from a small town player to a national level cricketer. My big moment came when these Ranji players said I played well. They told me there’s a lot more to cricket than just the shot.
"They said I looked convincing in the way I wore my helmet, gloves, stood my ground, ran and connected with the field. I worked on all of that.
"As far as playing the game goes, I was a cricket player from school and college. So I only needed to brush up the game. It was getting the other details about a cricketer’s personality right that was tough."
Bret Lee ready for Bollywood
Lee would be playing himself in the movie. "Working in the movie was fun because I just got to play myself. I enjoyed the whole experience," Lee said on the sidelines of an event. Sharing his on-shoot experiences, he added: "We used to play a lot of cricket on the sets and my co-stars got many cricketing tips from me."
Victory is the story of a small-town cricketer played by Harman Baweja who makes it big in the international cricket scene. He is helped by Lee in the movie to realise his dreams.
Other Australian players - Michael Hussey, Brad Hogg and Stuart Clark will also share screen space in the movie for the first time along with Lee.
Apart from claiming wickets, Lee shares a passion for music. He also did a song and music video for legendary singer Asha Bhosle’s album Asha and friends.
"I am a music lover and I can hear anything from ’Metallica’ to ’Backstreet Boys’," Lee added. Lee’s love for music is evident by his habit of playing either the guitar or the piano everyday. "Music is the real stress buster for me, so at the end of a busy day, I play some instrument or listen to good music to uplift my spirits," he said.
When asked about his take on the emerging tie-ups between the fashion and sports world, Lee said both were different fields that should not be mixed.
Queried about his fashion statement, he quipped: "Fashion is just like music to me. I like to carry myself well and my fashion statement is just to be oneself."
Lee, who is a busy person because of hectic cricket tours and other assignments, is a home person whenever he gets the time.
"The family always comes first, so I love to be with them whenever I get time. My home is the ultimate holiday destination for me," he concluded.
Vikram’s Kanthaswamy (Mallana) rolls damaged
The crew of the unit of ‘Kandhasamy’ (Mallana), who returned from Mexico recently, was in for a rude shock. Nearly 30 out of the 120 film rolls that were used for the shoot in the South American country have been found damaged.
The blame game has begun with some accusing the airport staff of ‘mishandling’ the film rolls. An inside source says that it could be the fault of the unit itself as they were extremely casual in attitude.
Normally for films that are shot abroad, the film rolls are prevented from getting ‘scanned’ at the airport by the security staff, if the crew provides ample proof to the airport authorities that those film rolls are used ones. This particular formality must have been followed in this instance too.
‘Kalaipuli’ Thanu is very upset as all the efforts and money spent in Mexico have been wasted. The veteran producer toyed briefly with the idea of flying to Mexico again, but later has ordered these scenes to be re-shot at perfect ‘settings’ in Binny Mills, where the climax of the Rajni-starrer ‘Sivaji: The Boss’ was shot.

Both political parties TDP and Congress are trying their best to woo film actors to counter Megastar Chiranjeevi. While Chandra Babu managed to get the support of and Kalayan Ram, Congress has been trying its best to useBalakrisha, NTR Mahesh Babu's charisma in the coming Assembly elections. Super star Krishna, a former congress MP, said he would continue to serve the party but virtually ruled out his son and Mahesh Babu taking a plunge into politics. But according to the inside sources, Mahesh Babu indeed signed Rs 100 crore contract with congress party to support the congress in the assembly elections. Did Mahesh Babu really sign the contract or not? We have to wait and see. Rajasekhar and Jeevitha recently joined the ruling Congress and said they were ready to contest against superstar Chiranjeevi in the coming elections.
