Megastar mum on party plans

As if to herald his entry into politics in the next fortnight, Chiranjeevi and his entire clan went out to cast their franchise in the Jubilee Hills on Thursday morning. The family had never quite participated in the voting process in the past, at least not openly. The megastar came with his son Ram Charan Teja and wife Surekha to the polling booth where Allu Aravind and his wife also cast their votes.
Chiranjeevi was at his evasive best when bombarded by reporters about when his political party would be launched. Asked when their ‘political train’ would arrive, Chiranjeevi evaded giving a direct reply saying: “Allu Aravind spoke about something like that, didn’t he?” The actor, however, said it was important for everyone to exercise their franchise in a democracy and said everyone’s vote was valuable.
It may be mentioned here that in the last few days there have been reports that a name for Chiranjeevi’s proposed party was being finalized. While on and off, Chiranjeevi’s brother-in-law Allu Aravind has been hinting at the launch of the party and some meetings are also being conducted as a run-up to it, the megastar himself has avoided making any appearance in any of them.
