With Aishwarya Rai asking for Rs 6 crore, Kareena charging Rs 5 crore and Shilpa Shetty settling for no less than Rs 4 crore per film, filmmakers are finding it difficult to fit good heroines within their budget. So some of them have started looking down South for heroines who’ll settle for a lesser amount and can emote too. But much to their disappointment, the southern stars are also coming with an expensive price tag.
Take for example Shriya and Asin. Shriya’s only claim to fame is the Rajnikanth starrer Sivaji, The Boss. Her two Hindi releases, Awaarapan and Mission Istanbul, sank without a trace, yet the lady is not wiling to give any leeway when it comes to her pay cheque. She has been demanding between one to two crore per film. And in Asin’s case, the actress has not even had a single Hindi release till date but is already asking for the moon on the basis of the two biggies she has under her belt, one with Salman Khan and the other with Aamir Khan. It seems that filmmakers are in for a tough time.
