‘Item songs are sheer nonsense’

Item songs are something that bothers Jothika quite a bit. She just can’t stand them and describes them as nonsense. “Yes, it’s good to be glam once in a while but I feel these days, it has gone beyond limit. I guess even the audience does not like it,” she states. One word of advice to aspiring actors? “Act from the face and not from the body — that’s when you grow as an actor,” she says. One of the films in which she did that and which showed immensely onscreen was Snehitiye. Remind her of that film and she immediately breaks into a smile. “Being an allgirls film, we had awesome fun during the shoot,” she states, even as she reminisces incidents from the film
