It is almost my story - Rajinikanth on 'Kathanayakudu'

Superstar Rajinikanth is in Hyderabad and a special screening for his latest film 'Kathanayukudu' was held at the Prasad Studio preview theater just a day ahead of the movie's release.

Speaking to the press after the screening, the superstar said the story of 'Kathanayukudu' is almost his story harping on the importance of friendship.

When asked by a reporter if the story had anything in common with his real life, the stylish Rajinikanth said, 'Of course….Of course….you see the picture first and then I'll tell you'.

'You see 'Kathanayukudu' and you would feel this is not a Rajinikanth movie. Yes, it is not a regular movie of mine, but a film that is so much close to me. You'll definitely enjoy this picture. A good social message is there' said the superstar.

When a reporter asked in a surprised manner, 'Did I actually see you crying towards the end?'

Rajinikanth replied, 'In the film…. yes….'

When asked about the recent controversy about the film not being allowed to be screened in Karnataka, Rajinikanth said he had spoken to the concerned officials and requested them to have the movie released. However, the high voltage actor refused to talk on political issues when a reporter raised the Sethu Samuthram issue.

Jagapathy Babu, who plays a barber in 'Kathanayukudu' also spoke to the press saying he learnt the meaning of humility from Rajinikanth and showered praises on him.

'In the film the superstar slaps me towards the end. I loved it' he declared. He also mentioned that every time a shot of him was to be filmed, the camera would actually be zoomed in on a real friend of Rajinikanth.

'Kathanayukudu' releases worldwide on the 1st of August.
