Power Star's 'Path' Dilemma

It is known news that Power star Pawan Kalyan who has tasted success after a long time with his recent release 'Jalsa' is all charged up and is working hard on his upcoming venture 'Puli'. Meanwhile, the political developments involving brother Megastar Chiranjeevi have also made a significant impact in his life and he is involving himself in that line too.

It is now being heard that the effect of the political factors are having a huge impact on Pawan's thoughts and as it is, 'Puli' is said to be made with a target of releasing it before the coming elections and there are certain political undertones to it. Pawan from his end has been actively participating in the political side of his brother's decision.

This has led the Power star to a dilemma of sorts whether he should actually start concentrating on politics for sometime to help his brother before getting back to films or stick to his old guns for a while. Only time will tell the outcome of his thoughts. On the other hand Nookarapu Surya Prakasa Rao has come forward to make 'Satyagrahi' with Pawan. But Pawan is yet to decide where to go busy.

Navdeep Impresses Chiru Camp

Young hero Navdeep is one man who has been seen in few flicks but has come out with some good performances in his career, but then nothing big has happened to him as yet when it comes to films but then he is one guy who always manages to be in the publicity sector. Off late, there has been an increased presence of Navdeep during any event which is happening in the camp of Megastar Chiranjeevi. Sources say that it is his intimate friendship with hero Allu Arjun that is showing the results here, also Navdeep is said to have worked his charm even on the mastermind Allu Aravind which has in turn affected the Chiru camp. Now, it is not sure whether Navdeep will actually participate in the coming activities if Chiru is getting into it but then one thing is sure that his presence and popularity is increasing with his association with the Mega camp which might help him land into some biggies in the future.

Ramya Krishna For Rs 3 Lakhs!!!

In this process, she was approached by the noted producer C C Reddy who wanted her to play a key role in his upcoming venture which has been titled 'Tea, Samosa, Biscuit' which revolves around Irani café. However, he was speechless when he heard Ramya's figure but then he was keen to have her. So negotiations have started and despite Ramya giving the example of her other flicks where she is being offered that sum, CC Reddy is said to be squaring the deal for somewhere between 2 – 2.25 lakhs. This goes to show the demand Ramya enjoys despite her age.

'VICTORY' Telugu Movie Review

VICTORY of Nitin comes with a bang on the present land mafia prevailing in Hyderabad as well as other parts of the country. Nitin is depicted as an action hero and with his well toned muscular body, he aptly suits the character. The director has carved the story very well, but the dragging second half of the film will make the audience a bit annoyed.
Story

Vijji (Nitin) is an educated guy with a middle class family tag in his background. He is young and much talented. He immensely loves his younger sister and his mom. Tanikella Bharani plays the father’s character of Vijji (Nitin) in this film. Tanikella has a desire to build a small house with all basic luxuries. He has a dream to cultivate a garden in his house and has the plans to play with his grandchildren in it. In order to fulfill his dream Tanikella purchase a small plot in a housing board society.

Sindhu tolani incidentally meets with Vijii and befriends him. She works as a reporter in the news channel TV5 and fights against injustice.

Meanwhile Tanikella wishes to see his son as a married man and so in search of a suitable bride surfs the matrimonial websites. A girl named Jannu (Mamta Mohan Das) matches all the likings of Vijji and his family. Soon the boy and girl start to like each other and as a result fall in love with each other. Sashank, Duvvasi, Mohan, srinu are the friends of Vijji and share a well bonded friendship with each other.

However the entry of the villain takes place in the film. Devraj (Ashutosh Rana) is a land grabber in the disguise of a MLA. He makes his riches by land grabbing and selling the occupied lands to NRI’s. He eyes on the lands of the housing board society in which Vijji’s father Tanikella owns a small plot. Devraj creates some fake documents in the eyes of law and becomes the owner of the total property. But in the meantime the original owner emerges as the grandfather of Mamta Mohan Das. His name is Kondal Rao. When he challenges the villainous MLA in court, Devraj hatches a plan and kills him.


Then the hero enters into the filed and starts his heroic activities. Vijji exposes Devraj and his activities and brings to an end all his evil deeds in the society. He then wins the total property and also his beloved Jannu (Mamta).
Performance

Nitin as usual looks well suited for the action sequences with his toned body. He flexes his muscles and his so called eight pack body and ends the Villains’ activities. His dialogue delivery and the expressions have to be polished more. His dancing and acting capabilities are above average.

Mamta Mohan Das looks cool in this film with not much skin show, only a little bit she acts well. Her role is minced and only restricts to some scenes and songs.

Sindhu Tolani looks gorgeous as a reported. She is turning into a hot bomb day by day. Her Chennai contacts are surely giving some results. She also manages to pull up the focus on to her through her dialogues as a TV reporter.

Ashutosh Rana of bollywood steals the show with his impeccable acting skills. His eyes speak a lot and his villain character is well elaborated in some scenes as a land grabber and also as a criminal in the disguise of a MLA.

Tanikella, Sana, Ranganath, Nutan Prasad (After a long time) Kondalk Rao have done their jobs very well.

The comedy bunch is made up of Duvassi, Brahmanandham, Ali, MS Narayana and Krishna Bhagvan. Their try to churn some laughs from the audience. Abhinaya sri plays the role of a wife to Brahmanandham. She plays the role of an unsatisfied wife with an aged husband. Finally she elopes with Ali. The scenes which involve Brahmanandham, Abhinaya sri, and Ali are double meaning weaved but are interesting with some elder content.

The songs and the fights are picturised well, but the sentiment element gets the audience a feeling that “Endhuku Vachammu Ra Ee Cinemaki”.

There is nothing much to be said about the film and on the whole this film of Nitin may live for 30 days the most. Or else if Nitin’s father Sudhakar reddy aims, then it can limp towards a 50 day mark.

The astrologer told Shankar that his 'days' are good now and that it is likely to continue till the next few years. Shankar was also told to complete his 'Robot' before the stipulated period to ensure a historic run for the movie. The astrologer had told Shankar that if the movie wasn't released before the deadline, it'd be a great failure. Shankar, it is said, has been shaken a little bit by this piece of prediction. Nandamuri Gang At 'Hare Ram' Audio Release

The audio release function of the film 'Hey Ram' was held yesterday at Ramanaidu Studios, Hyderabad. Kalyan Ram is playing lead role in the film. Hari Krishna, Mohan Babu, Balakrishna and Jr NTR are among the special attractions in the function. And most interestingly Balakrishna preferred standing beside Jr NTR and placing his hand on his shoulder while taking photographs. Many compliments for my bikini shot'

My film Kuselan will hit screens in July... It’ll be my third film with Rajni sir and I play myself in it. Although it’s a guest appearance, I have two songs alone and a couple of scenes. The film is really stylish and I even appear as Cleopatra in one of the songs. The age difference between Rajni sir and me has never bothered me. In fact, he’s much more fun and energetic than any youngster. I still get compliments for my bikini shot in Billa... It’s been a while since its release, but my look in the film has received wide appreciation. I never had any apprehension about donning a two-piece because I was confident that I could carry it off. And it’s not just a bikini; you have to be comfortable in whatever you wear because it reflects on your personality. I too was given an option to wear a one-piece swimsuit if I wasn’t okay with appearing in a bikini. But I was aware that I had the right attitude, so when I wore it for the shot, I was really comfortable. Rumour mills were abuzz that I was paid a bomb for wearing the bikini, but there’s no truth in it. But I will never wear a two-piece for a film again... I’ve done it once and I’m happy the audience accepted me. So if I did it again I don’t think it’ll remain special. I also believe in doing things just once and I don’t believe in repeating my act. I’ve been dragged into controversies unnecessarily... So I like to keep to myself and spend time with family. I do my work, give it my best and head home. Because at the end of the day, it’s your work that matters. I haven’t thought about moving to Bollywood... Work here keeps me busy and when I’m not shooting, I watch films or hang out with friends. I’m very close to Ramya Krishna and her family. She’s been with me through thick and thin. I like maintaining a balance between work and friends. I’m feeling very content right now and am happy staying down south.

Rekha In Almost Nude

Actress Rekha who has gone through a series of name changes made a smashing debut with her film 'Anandam' but then she has not been able to take off with her career and most of her films bombed at the box office. After that, Rekha seemed to have gone into a recluse of sorts and was not to be seen for quite a while at least in the Telugu industry. 'Premotsavam' starts rolling in Hyderabad

Shooting of 'Premotsavam' directed by Rajeswar and produced by Ashok K Kotwani on the banner of Yank Movies with Sriram and Namita in the lead was launched recently.

The film had completed its first schedule with the picturisation of scenes at Ambedkar University, Begumpet Airport, Lahari Resorts and other such areas in Hyderabad. The second schedule is slated to begin on July 15 at Malaysia.

Director says, 'Like my earlier film 'Mauna Hridayam', I am bringing out this film with a beautiful subject with a good mixture of commercial elements. In the first schedule, we shot some scenes involving Sriram and Namitha and some others with college backdrop.'

Producer says, 'The film has all kinds of elements that could attract the youth. We had plans to release the film in September.'

Sriram says, 'I am playing the role of an employee of a corporate company. It is a colourful film with lots of commercial elements.'

Hemamalini, a novice is making her debut as another heroine in this movie. Nazar, Raghubabu, Vivek, Anil, Rayesha, Shruti, Ragasha and others are in the cast.

Dialogues are by Surendra Krishna, music is by Yatish, camera is by J Camel Alex, art is by Jockey, while story, screenplay and direction are by K Rajeswar.

Two songs remained balance for 'Flash News'

Canning of two songs remained balance for 'Flash News' directed by Ashok, presented by Janyavula Seshaiah and produced by Pulleti Durga Mohan on the banner of Sri Lakshmi Sindhu Cine Creations with Rajiv Kanakala, Suresh and Navneet Kaur in the lead.

Producer says, 'The film will have media in the backdrop and Rajiv Kanakala and Navneed Kaur are playing the roles of journalists. The film explains how an honest journalist could help the society. Suresh is playing a role with negative shade. The film has several commercial elements including action, entertainment and sentiment. We will complete the choreography of the balance two songs very soon. We are making efforts to release the film in August.'

Nagendrababu, Ali, Vijayarangaraju, Tarjan, Kallu Chidambaram, Kondavalasa Lakshmana Rao, MS Narayana, Rupa, Apoorva, Satyasri, Revati and others are in the cast.

'Sarkar' busy in post-production

Post-production works are nearing completion for 'Sarkar' directed by Phaniraj, and produced by K Venkateswara Rao on the banner of Santipriya Productions with Vijayanand and Suhasini as hero and heroine, and with Nagababu and Ramyakrishna playing key roles.

The producer says, 'Our film is based on a Hollywood film 'Sixth Sense'. Nagababu is playing the role of a psychiatrist in this film. There is a happy couple and the wife gets murdered in unexpected turn of events. She turns a ghost. How and on whom she took revenge for her killing and how she took the help of her close relatives is the basic theme of the movie. Ramyakrishna played the role of ghost in the movie. Veenapani and Arjun scored the music. Re-recording would remain a highlight as the film is of thriller genre. We are making efforts to release the film in July.'

Gv.Prakash's 'Kathanayakudu' stage show' to rock Chennai, Hyderabad

'Kathanayakudu' - the name spells magic these days. The movie is gearing up for a spectacular opening and reports suggest that just about everyone who worked for the movie is happy with the outcome of all the songs composed by young G. V. Prakash.

The 'Kathanayakudu' think-tank has planned an extravaganza for live music lovers in Chennai and Hyderabad. G. V. Prakash's team along with all the singers of the various songs will perform live on stage on the 19th of July in Chennai and on the 25th of July in Hyderabad. Initial reports suggest that all the actors who performed in 'Kathanayakudu' would also be present. However, this is yet to be confirmed officially.

Many production houses have come out with novel ways of attracting the general public's attention to their movies. We recently witnessed Jackie Chan at the audio launch of 'Dasavatharam'.

The concept of a live show playing out the music of the film is indeed very attractive. However this has nothing to do with the audio launch. The audio launch for 'Kathanayakudu' would happen as planned on the 30th of June at Hotel Le Royal Meridian at 7 pm in Chennai. Attractive booklet style invitations have already been handed out to guests.

Superstar Rajinikanth looks spectacular in the film and seems completely at home with the attitude of a 'style king'. When it comes to style, he most surely is the best in the world. Playing a film superstar in 'Kathanayakudu' is a boon for millions of his fans as he can enact all the stylish walk, talk, gestures and attitude he has developed over the years.

This film would also be a major benchmark in G. V. Prakash's career. 23 years of age and has bowled over the likes of Rajinikanth, P. Vasu and K. Balachander.

NTR, Balakrishna for 'Hare Ram' audio launch

All the artistes from the Nandamuri clan are likely to appear together on a single dais on June 28 at the audio release function of Kalyanram's 'Hare Ram'.

It is learnt that Balakrishna, NT Rama Rao were invited as chief guests for the audio release function. Nandamuri Harikrishna is also likely to participate in the audio release function.

With the recent political developments, the step brothers, Kalyanram and NT Rama Rao were moving a little close with each other, as the latter is being invited for the family functions and Kalyanram is attending the film-related functions of his brother NTR.

Kalyanram had planned the audio release function in a big way. Harshavardhan is directing the movie while Priyamani played the female lead and Mickey J Meyer scored music.

EVV worried about Aryan Rajesh

If someone questions EVV about his dream project, pat comes the reply that the film, which gives the real break to his elder son Aryan Rajesh, would be his dream film.

Revealing this in an interview recently, the director says, 'I gave several hits and breaks to many artistes. As a producer and director, I was able to give a hit to my second son Allari Naresh too. He is now a busy hero. Now I am worried about the career of my elder son Aryan Rajesh. If he was able to get a success and fits in the success groove, I will be very happy. I am sure that my dream would come true in this year. I set a goal in this regard and I had a strong feel to give the necessary break to my elder son Aryan Rajesh at any cost. After all, for any father, the success of his son would give a big relief.

'Adugu' completes third schedule

The third schedule of 'Adugu' directed by Veeraprasad Neelam, presented by Bommakanti Sudhir Babu and produced by Bommakanti Madhavi on the banner of Madhavi Art Productions with Samarendra and Richa Soni in the lead was completed recently.

Producer says, 'Some comedy scenes were shot on Ali, MS Narayana during this schedule, besides canning of a song on Suman and Sudha. Some more key scenes were also shot on Samarendra and Richa. Generally the Telugu word 'Adugu' would be used for several occasions like to ask somebody to say something or to step forward and the like. What was the occasion we used in the film is a suspense.'

Director says, 'Shooting is progressing as per schedule with the cooperation from the artistes and technicians. We started the final schedule of the film on June 21.'

Brahmanandam, Tanikella Bharani, Kavitha and others are also in the cast. Music is by Jeevan Thomas, while screenplay and direction are by Veeraprasad Neelam.

Preity didn’t care astrologer warnings

Preity Zinta, who has now turned into a businesswoman, says she invested in the Indian Premier League in spite of warnings from an astrologer friend. “In spite of the warning from my astrologer friend, I went for the deal as I had a gut feeling that it is the future. I told my friend that if it doesn't work for me then I would become the 50th wife of the Sultan of Brunei,” said Preity, who co-owns the IPL Mohali team. “My team performed well and I am happy with all the team members and will continue my support for the team,” she added. As far as book balancing was concerned, she said this had not been a profitable year but was optimistic they would do better next time.

Now that IPL is over, Preity is concentrating on her films and the 'Unforgettable' world tour with the Bachchans starting July 18. She will be touring the US, Britain and Canada with Amitabh Bachchan, his son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya. 'I am very excited to go with them as Abhishek and Ash are my great friends. Besides, the participation of guest stars like Akshay Kumar, who is joining us in Canada, Madhuri (Dixit) in the US and Shilpa Shetty in London, will add to the excitement,”she said. 'This is the first time when we will be joined by performers from different parts. The audiences will be huge and we are expecting an overwhelming response,' added Preity Zinta.

It’s waiting time for Mamta Mohandass

Mamata Mohandas has just returned from the US where she was shooting for her next film, the Venkatesh-starrer Chintakayala Ravi. She has not had a release in a while but with three of her films- Victory, Homam and Chintakayala Ravi - all set to release one after another, we are surely going to see a lot of her over the next couple of months! The actress, it seems, is very happy with the way the films have shaped up. "I am eagerly looking forward to the release of these three films. I am happy that I got to play three characters that are completely different from each other. I enjoyed playing each character and can't wait to see the audience response," says Mamata.

That's not all, the singer-turned-actress has also lent her voice for a song each in both Victory and Homam. The song in Homam especially has got everybody talking. "I play a doctor's character in the film and it's a situational song in the film when the two lead characters express their love for the first time. So it had to be sensual," she laughs. Mamata has not signed any Telugu films for now. "Presently, I am busy doing a Tamil film with Madhavan and Abbas. I would like to wait for my films to hit the screens before I take on any more Tollywood assignments," she said.

Ready' Promotion Bad

After a long gap, a movie has come which is being viewed as a complete family entertainer and has been getting some real good marks from the family audience and other classes of viewers too. It is the recently released 'Ready' starring Ram and Genelia in the lead cast and directed by Sreenu Vaitla. However, the makers have been receiving some flak as news is coming in that despite the good talk that is making rounds, they have not been promoting the film aggressively which would take the film to a blockbuster level of success. While it is understandable that Sreenu might be busy with his other ventures, it would be better if he can give another gentle push which will take the movie by leaps and bounds. History shows that it was gestures like these that take the movie closer to the audience and also make the stars more connected to the general public. It is about time someone makes a note of this and takes initiative to promote the film.

Nandamuri Hero With National Award Heroine

Priyamani has been signed up to play the lead opposite Kalyanram in their upcoming venture, Hare Ram. Harsha Vardhan is directing the film, that is to be produced by Kalyanram himself. Priyamani's career has got a shot in the arm ever since she won a national award. The lass will be hoping for the run of luck to translate into BO results as well. Kalyanram, on the other hand, has not had a hit in four years since Athanokkade and will be eager to put an end to the losing streak. Guess that makes them two of a kind!

Nithin In Cuddaph Dargaah

Hero Nithin had made his presence at Cuddapah Dargaah this morning. He performed special prayers at Pedda Dargaah in the presence of religious heads of the shrine. Nithin, after the prayer talked to media and said that he was very happy being at the Dargaah. He said that he is there to perform prayer to see his new film 'Victory' as a hit. He said that his previous film 'Atadista' was a hit and expecting that his new film Victory that is releasing tomorrow will be a bigger hit.

Will 'Warrior' Win Over 'Saint'?

This might sound like the big fight between god and the devil himself but then it is not to be. What we are talking about is the upcoming film of Yuva Ratna Balakrishna who has been keeping the media and the film folks on their toes with regard to the announcement of his next film. Till sometime, it was the movie titled 'Sadhu' which was to be directed by the famous film maker Gunasekhar. However, NBK has now changed his stands and it is now heard that he has given the chance to a new player who goes by the name of Dasrath. The title for this venture is said to have been titled 'Kshatriyudu'. So the focus has now shifted on whether NBK did the right thing by going in for a debutante rather than relying on the old war horse. As such he has not been having that great a hit when it comes to his films so many people have started betting their numbers on whether 'Kshatriyudu' will really have the punch in it to give Balayya the deserved success or was he better off if he had opted 'Sadhu'.

Varun Sandesh, who made his debut in 'Happy Days' got an opportunity of his lifetime in AVM Productions' movie.

Vimala Raman is the female lead, while Marthand K Shankar, brother of popular film editor Marthand K Venkatesh, is making his debut as director, for the film to be produced by M Saravanan and MS Guhan.

The film was titled as 'Idea Venkat' with a tagline '24 hours roaming'. Venugopal is the cinematographer while music is by Manisharma.

The film is likely to roll very soon.

Katrina Kaif in 'Puli'

It is well aware that the shooting of 'Puli' was postponed due to the accident occurred to its director SJ Surya during the shooting of a Tamil film.

The Pawan Kalyan-starrer, Puli, produced by Singanamala Ramesh on the banner of Sri Kanakaratna Movies is likely to go to sets in July.

Though Parvati Melton was selected as the second heroine of the movie, the selection of main heroine is yet to be done. It is worth mentioning here that Karina Kapoor and Priyanka were first contacted for the heroine slot but they expressed their inability as they were otherwise busy in Hindi films.

Later, Sneha Ullal, a look alike of Aiswarya was contacted and the name of Hansika was also under consideration.

Now gossips are doing rounds in Film Nagar circles that the unit is planning to rope in Katrina Kaif as heroine. It is learnt that Pawan Kalyan personally spoke to Katrina Kaif and offered her the chance but the latter did not assure him anything immediately.

Nagarjuna worried with MAA TV

Yuvasamrat Nagarjuna, who is the chief of MAA TV is said to be getting afraid of Zee Telugu. According to some reliable sources of MAA TV, ever since Zee Telugu has come up with an idea to air recently released films which are 6 months old, Nagarjuna is spending sleepless nights from the past three months.

It is reported that in April 2008 many sponsorers and NRI investors were lured y Nagarjuna to invest in his channel. But it is said that since this channel could not attract the viewers in the summer vacations the TRP’s of the channel were only average during the summer season. The programs in this channel are failing to rise. The new set of reality shows like Bommarillu and others are failing to capture the audience.

Even the repeat telecast of Chiranjeevi, Allu arjun, Nagarjuna films are not at all capturing the TRP’s rise. More over till date only Gemini TV was in the competition of Maa TV. But from the past January 2008 Zee Telugu has taken up the charge. Its telecast of new films is making the viewers attracting towards it.

In the coming days many new releases like TULASI, DUBAI SEENU and many more are going to be telecasted in this channel.

Recently ETV Prabhakar who almost left the ETV job has been lured by Nagarjuna to host some shows. It is said that he has been offered a package of 10 percent profit as well as his regular remuneration of each show he hosts.

But one thing is sure; if at all Chiranjeevi enters politics MAA TV will be like an official supporter for him. Previously EX CM Chandrababu was the delicate darling of MAA Channel. Now the post has been given to Chiranjeevi Khandhan.

Tamanna has no plans to sign new film

Every day, Tamanna, one of the most happening stars in south cinema, gets an offer to do a film. But she says the roles offered to her are not very exciting or challenging.

Recently, she made news when she opted out of Telugu superstar Allu Arjun's film after signing it. The reason why the star backed out was because her dates had gone haywire.

Currently, she is doing Surya's Ayan and Anandathandavam, a film with a new hero in Tamil. Tamanna is also doing two films in Telugu.

The actress, who shot to fame in Telugu after her spectacular performance in Happy Days, in which she plays a cheerful, bubbly college girl, has not gone unnoticed in Kollywood as well.

The actress finds her hands full at the moment and she has no plans to sign up any new films.

Atul Kasbekar clicked the pics for Vogue with Asin dressed in a red embroidered Lanvin dress. “The shoot for Vogue was really exciting. It was my first shoot for a fashion magazine and I had loads of fun. The clothes were amazing—especially the pink dress by Valentino. I have started working out recently,” says Asin on the occasion of the release of the magazine.

'Three' to be a psychological thriller

Re-recording is in progress for 'Three' directed by Sekhar Suri, presented by P Kanakalakshmi and produced by Phaniraj and GS Babu on the banner of Raj (India) Entertainments with Rishi, Rajiv Kanakala, Shantichandra and Urvasi Sarma in the lead.

Director Sekhar Suri says, 'As everyone is predicting 'Three' is not a murder mystery nor a horror film. I am bringing out a film with two real life incidents. It is just a psychological thriller.'

Producers say, 'We are bringing out the film with a huge budget on the lines of a Hollywood movie. We are confident that the Telugu audiences would taste a new kind of film through our film. We are making efforts to release the film in July.'

Jokes on Chiru party

The inordinate delay on the part of megastar Chiranjeevi in launching his political party is causing frustration, not among his fans and political leaders who want to join him, but among mediapersons. So much so that they have started spinning jokes on Chiru's indecisive nature. A Telugu TV channel has telecast a satire, in which Chiru gives a call to all the youngsters to come out and fight against corruption and other evils in the society. The satire ends up in saying that the youngsters might turn old, if Chiru continues to delay his political plans. Another joke is doing rounds in the journalists' circle: Chiranjeevi went to his native village the other day and thanked his mother for giving birth to him on August 22. And that has come in handy for him to delay the launch of his party till August 22. Had his birthday been in June or July, Chiru would have to hurry up things, which he doesn't want. Will he pick up courage at least in August?
