Shriya looks to acting guru for tips

Actress Shriya Saran is known to have a perfectionist streak about her performances. She prefers to be the best and hates leaving things to chance. Naturally, despite being a superstar down South and an up-and-coming celebrity in Bollywood, she wants to further improve on her performances. And when she wants something, it has to be the best. So Shriya sought consultation from acting guru Barry John, who has trained stars like Shah Rukh Khan. “She wanted private classes to work on certain areas of acting but we do not give private coaching. It’s always a group activity with us. So she did the second best thing and gave a few of her film’s DVDs to be reviewed and we took great pleasure in watching them. She is a good performer and she will still better with time,” says Barry. In fact earlier, when Dia Mirza had wanted Barry’s help, she had formed her own group with people like Konkona Sen Sharma, Anushka Khanna and a few other actors. As for Shriya, Barry is an amazing actor, guide and connoisseur of acting. “When you need advice seek the one who is not just good but the best in experience, knowledge, focus and understanding,” she says. Since she needed comments on her acting, she came to Barry because his school focuses on acting alone, and not the other performing arts.
