Jayaprada is to Chiru, as Maya is to Babu!

It appears Uttar Pradesh politics is going to play a major role in Andhra Pradesh politics in 2009 elections.

In a bid to counter the attempts of Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu's to rope Bahujan Samaj Party leader and UP president Mayawati into election campaign on behalf of the TD, Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh has decided to bring in his star campaigner Jayaprada to canvass on behalf of Praja Rajyam Party chief Chiranjeevi.

Babu's alliance with Mayawati is part of the attempt to form a third alternative at the national level. If Mayawati enters the scene and campaigns for TD in AP, Babu thinks he can divert a large chunk of Dalit votes towards the TD. At the same time, it would help Mayawati to have a footing in AP.

Knowing this, Amarsingh landed in Hyderabad along with Jaya Bachchan and Jayaprada to have negotiations with Chiranjeevi. If SP can have a tie-up with PRP, it can consolidate its presence in AP and in future, it would help Chiru's support in promoting Mulayam Singh Yadav as the Prime Ministerial candidate. On his part, Chiru thinks, Jayaprada and if possible, Amitabh Bachchan could add to his glamour and that would help him get large number of youth and women votes in the next elections. So, who will have the last laugh? SP or BSP?
