Ileana , who has been part of the Telugu film industry for four years, is now looking to expand her horizon.

The lissome damsel admits she has been getting offers from Bollywood but goes on to add that nothing fascinating has come her way yet. Therefore, she hasn’t agreed to any Bollywood film, but looks forward to do a few if the offers are good and her roles are meaty.

And who are the hunks she would like to work with in Hindi films?

“ Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan ,” she says, singling out two hot newcomers.

Meanwhile, Ileana is learnt to have given her nod to star with Tamil hero Vijay in AVM Balasubramaniam's new film ‘Vettaikaranto’ be directed by debutant Babu Sivan.

Ever since the flop of her first Tamil movie ‘KD’, Ileana has been turning down offers from Kollywood. But now, if the buzz is to be believed, she has agreed to her second Tamil movie at such a whopping price that she has outshined the highest paid Tamil actress Nayantara .

In Telugu cinema, Ileana is considered a lucky star and has given a couple of hits like Pokkiri with Mahesh Babu .

Case against Mallika Sherawat

Mallika Sherawat is going through a bad phase. She is struggling to score a big hit but none of her films have don well in the last couple of years. She is now caught in a court case. Vinod Jain, a social activist has filed a case against her in the Mumbai court.

Vinod in his complaint said that Mallika Sherawat had hurt the sensibilities of the people by dancing almost in the nude during the New Year eve party at a star hotel in Mumbai in 2006. The court has issued notices to Mllika as well as the management of the hotel. Mallika has not time till October 7 to file a reply to the notice.

Prabhas’ ‘Billa’ in panache

Erstwhile ‘Billa’, a Tamil film starring Ajith, Nayantara and Ramya in the lead roles, directed by Vishnu Vardhan, became a blockbuster hit.

A remake of this film, starring Prabhas as the hero and Anushka as the heroine has been proposed to be made. In the direction of Meher Ramesh of ‘Kanthri’ fame, the movie will be produced on Gopi Krishna Movies banner.

Plan is on to launch it on 9th October on the eve of Vijaya Dasami.

Sources state that a major part of this film will be featured in the locales of Malaysia and Korea. Director Meher Ramesh is presently touring these places to single out the exquisite locales in these countries.

Further, as Anushka is selected to reinstate the role played by Nayantara in the original version, Priyamani or Bhavana might be opted to play the role of Ramya.

A house for Pavan’s ‘Puli’

‘Khushi’ is a super hit film made in the combination of Pavan Kalyan – SJ Surya. After a gap, the lauded duo comes together again for ‘Puli’. Produced by Singanamala Ramesh Babu, the regular shooting for the film is undergoing at a steady pace.

Presently, a House-Set has been erected in Annapurna Studios, for canning a few prominent scenes of the movie. It is known that Nikisha Patel and Parvathi Melton are playing the heroines in the film.

Sukumar awaits an arrival

Starring Allu Arjun and Anu Mehtha in the lead cast, ‘Dil’ Raju produced the most popular hit ‘Arya’ on Sri Venkateswara Creations.

The hit flick was directed by Sukumar, is a well known fact. Lately, Sukumar did not make any commercial success after this film. Consequently, he planned to make a sequel to ‘Arya’.

Allu Arjun dons the protagonist once again in this sequel for which Kajal and Shraddha Arya serves the love quotient for ‘Arya-II’. BVVSN Prasad and Aditya Babu are producing this film in an amalgamated effort.

Balakrishna's new films those are yet to start their shooting are suffering from the dearth of heroines. There are no proper heroines those can pair up with Balakrishna now. The major worry of the directors of respective films is to find right heroine who can match with the chemistry of Balakrishna. Initially the name of Priya Mani was heard but now the producers are thinking to change her and place Sneha Ullal or Siya in her place. Mahesh Babu next film is at last going to be launched in October. This new movie will be Mahesh Babu’s next after Athidhi which released quiet a long time ago. This yet to be named film is being directed by Trivikram Srinivas. Singanamala Ramesh is producing this movie and Parvathi Melton is the main heroine.

The shooting of major part of this film will take place in South Africa. It was actually first decided to shoot the major part of the film in Rajasthan but suddenly the location was changed from Rajasthan to South Africa.

There’s no pressure, but yes, I do want to make the right choices and I think I am. Working with first Imran and now Harman has a very positive vibe to it. We’re all new into this scene.” And any reflections on this onscreen character? “Both the characters I play are young characters. Aditi from Jaane Tu.. was a bit more brash and in-your-face. An absolute girl who follows her heart. My character from It’s My Life is a bit more earthy. She seems like a person who is more in touch with herself and very pure.”

The 25 Year Story Of 'Praja Rajyam'

No, we are not talking about the recently founded party by Megastar Chiranjeevi which is still in its infant stages. We are talking about the movie 'Praja Rajyam' that was churned out from the banner of Padmalaya studios starring superstar Krishna and the eternal beauty Jayaprada and this movie hit the screens exactly 25 years ago. True to its title, the story revolved around the issues of farmers and this was the result of Krishna's promise to his mother Nagaratnamma that he would make a movie on the farmers' issues. It was presented under the Ratna movies banner and was directed b M Mallikarjuna Rao. The highlight of the film was the dialogues that were penned by Paruchuri Brothers and became a big hit during those times. Interestingly, the film was also shot in Burripalem which happens to be Krishna's native and there was one scene that had about four hundred bullock carts along with hundreds of people which was considered a major feat in those days. So this 'Praja Rajyam' by Krishna was a trendsetter of its time but will Chiru's 'Praja Rajyam' create some similar magic? That remains to be seen.

Mahesh Babu’s Film Shooting In Bahrain

Mahesh Babu and director Trivikram’s film is finally going to the sets. From October 15th, it will begin its regular shoot in the deserts of Middle East. Bahrain, the island country in the Persian Gulf, is the place chosen for its first schedule. According to our sources, the unit will be leaving to Bahrain to shoot the major action episodes there in the deserts. Two song would also be canned there on Mahesh and Parvati Melton. Manisharma is scoring the music.

After finishing the Bahrain schedule, the unit will straight away head for Rajasthan and complete another schedule there. The film is a romantic action drama. Search for another heroine is on as Tamanna expressed her displeasure for giving her second lead.

'King' sailing smoothly aiming Dec 18

The soon to be released movie 'King' having Nagarjuna in the lead role and directed by the super hit director Sreenu Vytla is being wrapped up fast. Around 60 percent of the shooting has been completed.

The next schedule for canning a song and a chase sequence will start today and will continue till October 4 in Ooty. After that Bangalore will be the location for the next schedule from 5th Oct to 4th Nov, in which all the cast members will be involved. Some songs are also being planned to be shot in Turkey and Dubai.

There is no need to say about the expectations of the film lovers when the movie's hero is Nagarjuna. But one another reason that has fueled the rising expectations is the first time pairing of Trisha with the Tollywood hero. Dr. Srihari will be seen in the movie in a special role.

Siddharth and Tamanna are doing the lead roles in the film which is the first independent movie of director Srikant who was an associate of V.V.Vinayak.

Ramyakrishna plays the role of Siddharth's mother in the movie being produced by Nallamalapu Srinivas under the banner of Lakshmi Narasimha Productions in association with Suresh Babu's Suresh Productions.

Currently Siddharth, Tamanna, Vijay Samrat and some other cast members are finishing up the canning of a rain song at Saradhi Studios. After the shooting of this song gets over, the cast and crew will move on to Shamshabad International Airport or Ramoji Film City for further shooting.

The makers are planning to complete the production by December and release the movie as a Sankranti gift in January’09.

Shilpa Setty was called for the historical formula-1 racing in Singapore this night. The race is historical as it's first of kind in conducting that in night time. I'm single, Riteish is just a friend: Genelia

Genelia D'Souza, Imran Khan's petite and perky co-star in Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na, brushes off rumours of any relationship with Riteish Deshmukh with a "we're just friends." Genelia teamed up with Riteish for her first Hindi film Tujhe Meri Kasam and they were seen together once again in Masti. While Tujhe Meri Kasam bit the dust at the box office, Masti hit bull's eye. But the film's success didn't help much in shaping her career. "I'm very much single. Riteish is a friend. But that's it. I've no idea where these rumours come from. We're both very busy. When we occasionally meet up, we're normal with each other, not the least selfconscious about what's written about us. I'm very new to all this. I've done two films with Riteish - Tujhe Meri Kasam and Masti," Genelia told IANS. The actress forayed into showbiz with Amitabh Bachchan as her co-star. "I did a Parker pen ad with him when I was still a kid. It seems I've been acting forever. I started young, yes. In 2003, I had three releases in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Strangely acting was never an option. That ad was directed by Mansoor Khan. He kept me in mind for Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na, and here I am," she said. "Actually Jaane Tu... was being produced by Jhamu Sugandh first. That's when I screen tested for the role of Aditi. I met the director Abbas Tyrewala and he almost finalised me. But he needed bulk dates from me and I was busy down South. He wanted to shoot at a stretch. I couldn't do that. "Then one day I got a call from Aamir Khan's office. Abbas wanted a complete newcomer. But Aamir wanted a girl who suited the character. The next thing I knew, I was on board." Genelia said she was never that keen on an acting career. "But when I saw how I was appreciated down South, I fell in love with the industry. I've been lucky. I didn't plan anything. I've never contacted a single producer. So far it's been an awesome journey." After Tamil and Telugu, Genelia has just made her debut in a Kannada film. "I'm sure I'll be able to dub in all the South Indian languages soon. I know I can do it. I just need to get the slangs and colloquialisms correct. Honestly, I need to dub my own lines in the South to give complete performances." Like Asin, Genelia is now dividing her time between Bollywood and the South. "I'm getting a lot of calls in Mumbai. I want to balance it out. But the priority would be Hindi films right now because I've worked really long in the South. But my South Indian films are also very important. "I get very satisfying roles in Tamil and Telugu. And I can't let them go. Let's just say I'll do one film down South for every two films I do here. In any case, they wrap up their films superfast down South. "I also had fun doing Priyadarshan's Mere Baap Pehle Aap. I enjoy doing films in all languages and genres." She said that her commitment to southern directors affected her Bollywood career. "I got busy with the South; that's the only reason why it took me so long to get noticed in Bollywood. There's a buzz about Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na ecause it was Imran's debut film." Right now she is busy shooting for It's My Life with Harman Baweja. It is a Hindi remake of Telugu hit, Bommarilu. "I've done the original in Telugu. Then I also did the remake in Tamil. Now I'm doing it in Hindi. The Tamil and Telugu versions were similar. But the Hindi version is very different. Today, both the South and Hindi are high-potential industries for me. I'm still a newcomer in Bollywood." (IANS)
