Gaayam is one of the modern classics in Telugu cinema. Released in 1993, the classic was directed by Ram Gopal Varma and screenplay penned by Manirathnam and had Jagapathi Babu, Revathy and Urmila in the lead roles. Nearly two decades later, a sequel is made to this titled Gaayam 2 with the same lead hero - Jagapathi Babu. But this sequel is not being directed by RGV but his disciple Praveen Sri. Ram Gopal Varma presents the movie while new producer Dr.Dharmakartha C is producing it on Kartha Creations banner. Vimala Raman is the heroine.
As the film’s shooting has already been completed the film’s official logo aNo long break for me: Maheshnd promos were unveiled in the presence of RGV on August 11, 2010 at The Park Hotel in Hyderabad.
