It is now estimated that Shah Rukh Khan is worth about 2500cr. His is the highest worth and is much higher than the second in the list Akshay Kumar who is worth about 1800cr.
Despite having tremendous star power and fan following Amir Khan and Salman Khan could not compete with Shah Rukh and Akshay. This just goes to prove once again that Shah Rukh is the king and Akshay is the king in making.
The reason why Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar are in a league of their own is that, they are the hottest selling stars outside of India. A Shah Rukh Khan or Akshay Kumar film is a big draw in the international circuit. This was the monopoly of Shah Rukh for quite sometime, till films like Namaste London, Welcome and Singh Is King from the Akshay stable also started doing well.
All in all, the race to the finish is between Shah Rukh and Akshay.
