Bollywood actress Preity Zinta, the brand ambassador of an NGO working for social cause, has persuaded her Bollywood friends to join her in the campaign to help villages in India that have no electricity and to raise funds to provide light through solar power.
Preity Zinta, Shilpa Shetty, Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan, all have adopted villages at the cost of Rs 3 lakhs each in the campaign.
While Shilpa Shetty has adopted five villages, Shah Rukh Khan has adopted five villages and Preity, her mother and Akshay Kumar have adopted one each.
