Apart from Nagarjuna-starrer film and Venkatesh-starrer Namo Venkatesha, there is another big ticket release for Sankranthi. It is Balakrishna's Simha. Its Executive Producer B Mahendra Babu has announced that the film will be released in January.

Directed by Boyapati Seenu who made films like Badra and Tulasi in the past, the film is being made under the banner United Movies. For Balakrishna, the film is significant especially because his last two films Okka Mogadu and Mitrudu sank without a trace.

After the film completes the shoot in Hyderabad by the end of the month, the unit will can the film in Vizag in the next month. Later, post-production work will be made.

Raghu, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Aditya Menon, K R Vijaya, Brahmanandam, Ali, Dharmavarapu Subramanyam, L B Sriram, Krishna Bagawan are other actors.

Specially, the film has the Malayalam actor Sai Kumar playing villain.

Sekhar Kammula hopes 'Leader' will be his best

At the grand audio release function of AVM's Leader, Shekar Kammula stated that his new offering was a kind of film that would make Bharat Mata (personfication of India as mother goddess) vigorously dance (tandava). A director-writer who is critically acclaimed for believing in making value-based entertainment, he has Dollar Dreams, Anand, Godavari and Happy Days as the director to his credit.

In Kammula's words, he could not zero in on a subject after Happy Days turned out to be a big hit and expectations on his next film touching skyhigh. So when he sat down to watch television and news, he arrived at the conclusion, watching the political drama unfolding before his eyes, that a leader differed from a politician. Thus was born his concept Leader.

The tall thin director added that the film was going to be a tribute to Bharat Mata, in that She will "do tandava". The film is about a youngster and how he grows to be the 'leader.' It stars Daggubati Rana in the lead. The film is releasing on December 18.

Shilpa’s reception a gala event

Yesterday, the night at Grand Hyatt hotel was a filmy affair, laced with glitter, glamour and of course hi-fi stars. Aamir Khan injured

Aamir Khan, who is busy with promotions of his ‘3 Idiots’ reportedly sustained injuries.

The actor has sustained injuries in his leg while playing badminton. Buzz is that Aamir Khan, ever since he started to commence shooting for ‘3 Idiots’, had taken to the sport.

Even at the shooting spot, Aamir was often seen with his racquet. Recently when he was trying his luck with the game, he slipped and sustained minor injuries.

Three Idiots starring Aamir Khan and Madhavan in key roles is slated for release this Christmas. Aamir Khan is optimistic that the movie set on campus life would be a film to reckon with at the box -office.

Rated as the top rung star of Tollywood, he is the son of Akkineni Nageswar Rao (ANR) and is around 70 films old in Tollywood.Nagarjuna had his education at Hyderabad Public School and Little Flower Junior College. Hot actress Nayantara rejected film with Srinivas

Reigning actress Nayantara, who was the first choice of noted director Srinivas for his upcoming Kannada film Swaranjali, has been replaced by Rashmi, who shot to fame with her debut film Duniya (directed by Soori). Srinivas said he met Nayantara in Chennai and spoke to her about his film.

Though the actress liked the story and agreed to act in his film for Rs. 14 lakh, she couldn't make it because of date hassles, he added. Rashmi is said to have accepted the same role for a much lower fee. Nayantara is currently waiting for her next release Aadhavan, directed by K.S. Ravikumar with Suriya as the hero.
