Meera Jasmine Signs Shankar Film

Meera Jasmine, who started her career with Run opposite Madhavan got good acclaims for her performance in many south films. Though most her flicks didn’t click at the box office, audiences will always remember her as a bubbly heroine who could perform well.

The latest we hear about her is that she has signed to act in director Shankar’s net home production S Pictures. Usually, Meera takes a long time to sign a movie and this time too, she has taken her time to decide. And finally, it was a ‘yes’ from her side. It’s also believed that this film will be S Picture’s costliest venture so far.

Gopichand Warns Anushka!

For all those who have been dreaming of the voluptuous beauty Anushka as their queen of hearts, this news might not go too well. Off late, there has been a lot of gossip and buzz revolving around the multiple link ups of the hot beauty with the different stars and technicians but now there seems to be a lucky man who has got her heart. It is being heard that Anushka is no more single and the man in her life happens to be the mass muscle hero Gopichand. There is a strong talk that both of them have been involved in an extremely passionate affair and things are looking quite serious for each other about their affair. All of you are aware that Anushka has been roped in for the film 'Yugandhar' that would have Prabhas in the lead and as expected, Anushka was said to be asked to sport a bikini in the film. However, on the other side there is Gopichand who has asked her not to wear bikini for Prabhas' film. That is his possessiveness on her so it is time to welcome the Saif-Kareena of Tollywood now.

Vishal's Pain 'Here And There'

Sometimes, the pain that is experienced by few film makers and artistes when they put in their heart and soul for a venture and that turns out to be a major disaster cannot be described in words. Now, one such thing is currently on with the tall and muscular hero Vishal who has come from Chennai. There is news coming in that he is feeling pain both in Tollywood and Kollywood as 'Salute' 'Sathyam' have flopped miserably and despite the very aggressive publicity that was made upto the tune of crores has not been able to help the film from going down. It now remains to be seen what approach Vishal will take for his next venture and there is a small feeling that Vishal might soon be heading towards direction instead of taking up another project. His birthday this year may not be that fruitful but one hopes that is next one will be memorable.

Tarun Washed Out From List?

He was once the most sought after star in the film industry and there have been several instances of college girls simply dying to catch a glimpse of him on screen. He is none other than Tarun, the former heartthrob of girls but today the situation is completely different. Tarun who has begun his second innings after a brief gap has not been able to deliver a single hit ever since he got back. So much so, that even his much hyped film pairing up with Ileana and the special role of Jagapathi Babu has not been able to help his ship from sinking. It now appears that Tarun has almost reached the exit doors of his career. His last and final chance now lies with the forthcoming release 'Sasirekha Parinayam' and this time again he has some of the best in the unit with Krishnavamsi as the director and the super successful Genelia as his leading lady. Only time will tell whether Tarun gets through with ease or gets off the list completely washed out.

Kotha Bangaru Lokam audio launch

Varun Sandesh and Swetha Prasad starrer Kotha Bangaru Lokam had its audio release function yesterday at State Art Gallery, Hyderabad. NTR, Prabhas, Allu Arjun, Bomarillu Bhaskar, hero Varun Sandesh, producer Dil Raju, director Srikanth Addala, lyricists Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry and Ananth Sri Ram and many others were present for Kotha Bangaru Lokam audio release function.

Prabhas released the audio cassette and handed over the first copy to Bommarillu Bhaskar. Allu Arjun released the audio cd and handed over the first copy to Ntr.

Speaking on the ocassion, all the guests and unit members of Kotha Bangaru Lokam praised one another and also thanked each other for their hard work and support in the making of Kotha Bangaru Lokam. They also said that the movie is sure to be a super hit blockbuster movie.

Nagarjuna's King press meet

The unit of Nagarjuna next movie King held a press meet on 29th August at Taj Deccan, Hyderabad. Hero Nagarjuna, director Sreenu Vytla, story writers Kona Venkat and Gopi took part in the press meet. The unit of King informed that the shooting is going on at brisk phase and the movie would be released on December 19th, 2008.

Speaking to the media, Seenu Vytla said that he is just the director of the movie and Nagarjuna is the real King of the movie. He also said that King is going to be a real treat to Nagarjuna fans. Srinu Vytla also added that the shooting of King is little different and every frame is being shot to perfection because King would be different from Nagarjuna’s earlier films.

Kona Venkat spoke to the media about the making of King script while keeping Nagarjuna image in mind. He said that he, Gopi and Sreenu Vytla took a lot of care in preparing the script.

Nagarjuna praised Sreenu Vytla and his team for preparing such a cool script for him. He also was happy to inform that his son Naga Chaitanya would be launched as hero later this year. Nagarjuna also praised Trisha for her acting talents.

Devi Sri Prasad is composing music for King movie and Siva Prasad Reddy is producing it on Kamakshi Kala Movies banner.

Nenu Meeku Telusa audio launch

Manchu Manoj latest movie Nenu Meeku Telusa had ita audio release function on 29th August at Prasads Preview theatre, Hyderabad. Balakrishna, Raghavendra Rao, Keeavani, Mohan Babu, YVS Chowdary and Kodandarami Reddy were the guests for the function.

Manoj Babu, Sneha Ullal, Sunil, Tanikella Bharani, director Ajay Sastri, editor Naveen, cinematographer Sunil Reddy producers Ashok Raju and Manchu Lakshmi were the unit members of Nenu Meeku Telusa who were present for the function.

Hero Nandamuri Balakrishna and K Raghavendra Rao jointly released both audio cassette and audio cd of Nenu Meeku Telusa movie. Sony BMG is distributing the audio in the market.

Every body spoke on the occassion and as usual praised each other. Those who all spoke on the occassion praised the guests, late Sri NTR and the entire unit of Nenu Meeku Telusa.

Saleem film launch

Manchu Vishnuvardhan and Ileana starrer Saleem had its official movie launch yesterday at Hotel Taj Deccan, Hyderabad. Dasari Narayana Rao clapped the clapboard, Akkineni Nagarjuna Switched on the camera and Raghavendra Rao directed the muhurat shot. Hero Prabhas gave the harathi and hero Kalyan Ram did the jyothi prajwalana. Mr and Mrs Mohan Babu handed over the bonded script to the unit members.

Vishnu and Ileana are doing the lead roles in Saleem and Mohan Babu is doing a negative role. YVS Chowdary is directing Saleem and Mohan Babu is producing it on Sri Lakshmi Prasanna Movies banner. Sandeep Chowta is providing the music and Chandra Bose is giving the lyrics. Gopi Mohan and Ravi are providing the story of Saleem.

Balakrishna movie to start shooting on October 9th

Yuvaratna Balakrishna will start acting in his next movie from October 9th. This movie will be launched on the auspicious day of Vijayadasami and the unit will contine shooting for the next fifteen days to complete the first shedule. From then on the film unit will shoot 15 days of every month till the movie is complete.

National Award and Filmfare Award winner Priyamani is roped in as the heroine for Balakrishna. Sivalenka Krishna Prasad will be producing this movie. This producer earlier produced movies like Aditya 369, Vamsanikokkade and Bhalevadivi Basu with Balakrishna as hero. A debutant director Mahadev will be introduced as director to telugu film industry with this movie.

Heroines Taking Pride In Learning Telugu

Speaking Telugu like a native is in these days. Priyamani, the famous Tollywood actress, is Malayali by birth and has grown up in Benguluru. But she speaks Telugu fluently and takes pride in it. This Malayali kutty says, “Since I can speak the language it becomes easy for me to converse with my unit on the sets. I am confident I can do my own dubbing very soon.” However, this trend of learning the language by non-Telugu actors dates back to the 90s when Amrish Puri did his own dubbing for movies. Prakash Rawal, the popular villain has taken a leaf out of Puri’s book and does his dubbing himself.
Madhushalini, one of the few Telugu speaking actresses in the industry says, “I think this condescending attitude towards Telugu developed in the younger generation because we were restricted from speaking in Telugu at school. Soon, it became “downmarket”. But that’s changing now.” Madhu confesses that the language is one unifying factor in an industry like Tollywood where talent is outsourced from all parts of the country. “It’s a language we think, speak and even dream in. Thankfully, new age T’wood movies have done their bit in making Telugu cool again.”
Some have learnt it from their colleagues and some by watching Telugu films. Says Nikita, a Punjabi by birth, “Nitin helped me learn the language when we were shooting for Sambaram. I also picked up a lot after watching Telugu movies.”

Big Heroes Afraid Of Nayantara

Brand Nayanthara is becoming bigger. The actress, who played herself in Kathanayakudu, has now done another cameo as Nayanthara in the Malayalam film 20: Twenty. Ask Nayanthara and she tells you how staying at the top is harder than getting there. Looking absolutely gorgeous in her new slim avatar, she is unperturbed by hits or flops and is even now referred to as the Queen of Kollywood, despite Kathanayakudu and Salute bombing at the box-office. After all, not many actresses have had the privilege of playing themselves in two films. A song was written on him in Tamil which was placed in a Vijay's film, Siva Kasi. And in Kathanayakudu, she got a chance to play director, P Vasu gave her an introductory song with Rajinikanth. In 20:Twenty, she makes a cameo appearance as Nayanthara, the actress, again. She is featured with all the top young guns of the Malayalam film industry like Pritviraj and Jayasurya. Grapevine has it that big heroes like Mammootty and Mohanlal, who are also acting in the film, did not want to be featured opposite Nayan as they feared she would steal their thunder.

There are two scenes in the movie where he is seen with plain underwear and shirt which fascinates not just the heroine but perhaps a few women who were present in the theatre too. Though this is not something that can be used as a marketing or publicity tool, the thought about seeing a known star of the industry on a big screen and that too in his briefs is really something naughty and worth a giggle among the women folk. Dr Rajasekhar's Revolver Vs Pawan Kalyan's Revolver

Recently, the Shamshabad airport was abuzz with a startling incident, it happened to be the discovery of a revolver from the film couple Dr Rajasekhar and his wife Jeevitha who were on their way to catch a flight for Chennai. During security checks, the revolver was uncovered and then Jeevitha is said to have come up with some dumb explanation. However, they had to go through certain formalities before carrying on with their journey but then this incident has actually given rise to few speculations as to what could be the cause for such a silly thing to happen and here is something that one of our reliable birdies had to say. Apparently, this was more of a cheap publicity stunt by Rajasekhar to show that even he carries a weapon along with him and how can one forget the ridiculous incident of Pawan Kalyan walking with a gun in hand during the CMPF issue. Strange are the ways of the film folks some times!!!

Mohan Babu In 'Saleem' Pooja

YVS Choudary's 'Saleem' with Vishnu Vardhan Babu and Ileana has started today with a pooja in Taj Deccan Hotel, Hyderabad. This is the 50th film on the banner of Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures. Mohan Babu performed puja for quite a long time with immense involvement. Vishnu Vardhan Babu and Ileana also participated in pooja. The film goes to sets shortly and YVS Choudary is making this film after 'Okka Magadu'. Vishnu is looking ultra slim as he has undergone liposuction treatment recently. Indeed, he is looking slimmer than Ileana. YVS is seen jubilant in the function.

Gopichand & Anushka Souryam audio launch

Gopichand - Anuska starrer Souryam had its audio launch yesterday in Hotel Marriot, Hyderabad. YVS Chowdary released the audio cassette and handed over the first copy to Pokuri Babu Rao. Sreenu Vytla released the audio cd and handed over the first copy to VN Aditya. A real estate business man Balakrishna bought the first audio cassette of Souryam for Rs. 80,000 in an auction held in the function.

Anand Prasad is producing Souryam on Bhavya Creations banner. Cinematographer Shiva is debuting as director with this film.
