It looks like the hot star Suriya is one man is currently ruling the roost at the box office and also with his offers. Right now, he is said to be on cloud nine as the news that he has been roped in by Ramgopal Varma for the film 'Rakta Charitra' has been announced. Suriya said that he fell flat for the script and added that he would be playing a very crucial role in this movie. This will also be Suriya's ticket for Bollywood and so this should be interesting.

Genelia impressed director Ghosh in 8 days

Genelia who proved her self as a talented heroine through her performance in the movies “Bommarillu”, “Dee”, “Ready”, “Sasirekha Parinayam” is now presently working in the Hindi film being directed by Ken Ghosh.

In this film Shahid Kapoor is playing the hero role and Genelia is acting opposite Shahid in the role of a heroine. Ken Ghosh complimented that the chemistry between these two is very good.

As of now, the film has completed its 8 days shooting and in these 8 days, the performance of Genelia impressed Ken a lot.

Talking in detail about this matter, he expressed that – “In the beginning we thought of Jiah Khan and later changed our decision and took Genelia. Frankly speaking, by selecting Genelia, the value of this movie rose high.

I was surprised by the talent of Genelia which I observed while shooting scenes on her these 8 days. There is a wonderful actress in her”.

Target' could have been better

Mumaith Khan tries her luck as a leading lady a second time in as many months and fails again. The failure does not entirely rest on her sexy shoulders, the film Target could have done well had the director taken greater care with his screenplay and editing.

Mumaith tried her best to salvage the film, but to no vain. Siva Balaji as her lover looks weak, and does not have the type of screen presence required to play a cop on Mumaith Khan’s chase.

All-in-all, Target is a film off target. A project gone haywire in an attempt to bring-in Hollywood style to Tollywood!!

The movie is getting shot at good pace and this is directed by Ramesh Varma. The music is composed by famous singer turned music director Hemachandra who is making his debut.

AR Rahman's music for ‘Couples Retreat’

AR Rahman’s next project has been confirmed. The Academy Award winning musician is all set to play the composer for an exciting Hollywood flick. ‘Couples Retreat’!

The film will be directed by Peter Pelensky, and has Vince Vaughn, Christine Bell a Jason Bateman playing important roles.

This is Rahman’s first commercial typical Hollywood film, which falls on the romantic comedy genre. Earlier, he made waves internationally as the composer of ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ and won two academy awards as well for it, but the film based in Mumbai, had Indian music.

This film should serve as the litmus test for AR Rahman, as the film will feature proper Western music, in which the composer has received formal training.

At home, meanwhile, the music genius has Rajini’s ‘Endhiran’, ‘Sultan The Warrior’, Maniratnam’s ‘Ravana’, Silambarasan’s ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaya’ and Akshay Kumar’s ‘Blue’. ‘Couples Retreat’, produced by Universal Studios, is planned for release this year end.
