Rajnikant hastens home to check dip in popularity

The star is scheduled to prepare for a series of meetings with the organisers of his fan clubs, All India Rajnikant Fans' Association president satyanarayana said in a pressnote. Sources close to Rajnikant's family said his wife Latha was mulling a more active role in organising the fan clubs a la Premlatha, actor-turned-politician Vijaykanth's wife who controls her husband's DMDK. Meanwhile, posters exhorting the matinee idol to start a political career were all over the city. In a recent interview, Satyanarayana denied rumours indicating that he was a stumbling block in the path of the movie icon's entry into politics. The ruling DMK's victory in 1996 is largely attributed to Rajnikant who had contributed sizeably to electoral alliance of the late G.K. Moopanar-led Tamil Manila Congress and M. Karunanidhi. The Tamil Manila Congress (TMC) also procured the cycle symbol to cash in on the popularity of a 1996 release "Annamalai" starring Rajnikant. The star had agreed to the use of photographs of him riding a cycle in the movie election posters of the TMC. The AIADMK was routed in the elections. Then chief minister Jayalalitha lost her seat in the 1996 assembly elections.

Now, Uday Kiran has hiked his remuneration to 60 lacs and hopes that his fee is justified. But last Saturday the producer Lokesh Dutt whose film Call center released offered a role for 40 lacs. But when Uday was adamant that is fee must be 60 lacs he backed out.

Dil Raju to remake ‘Maro Charitra’!

Dil Raju is most happening producer in Tollywood now. He enjoys the position that is akin to some big heroes’ power. This maverick producer further is planning to churn more movies with several directors. One of the projects that he is considering to do is remaking K Balachander’s classic Maro Charitra. Buzz is the cinematographer Ravi Yadav is all set to direct this remake of the classic.

Jr NTR, Prabhas To Act Together In A Film

A fairly young man, Raju (whose first hit Dil made him famous as Dil Raju in Tollywood) has the pulse of the Telugu audiences. Not one of his films can be termed as a flop or even average. Having produced movies like Paragu and Bommirallu, any movie that he decides to produce is surely hit material.
Now he has decided to do projects with Junior NTR and Prabhas, who are known for their mass action hero images. He announced recently that story discussions are on for the movies but “their treatment and further development is still on its way". He also revealed that he has four more stories on hand that he has taken up after examining them thoroughly.
A popular website quoted him as saying, “With piling up of good stories, I feel my growing responsibility as producer on my nerves. I feel the pressure.” Kotha Bangaru Lokam, his latest, will release on October 2, Gandhi Jayanthi, to cash in on the ending of Ramzan and the Dassera holiday crowds which will flock theatres.
Naga Chaitanya’s debut, which Dil Raju has the honour of producing, will start regular shooting schedules in October. It was already officially launched on September 22nd, on his grandfather Akkineni Nageswarao’s birthday.

According to rumours, Tabu is getting married to a real estate dealer, whom she met during her last visit to the US.

It is also announced that they were going in for a court marriage in New York.

But Tabu rubbished the rumour, she said, “Ha, Ha, Ha.. I’ve heard this too…

KIng Nag Pays 7 Crore

Nagarjuna has paid Rs 7 crore for the regularization land at controversial gurukul trust in Madapur. He paid on behalf of Annapurna Studios. In fact the lands cannot be regularized here but the chief minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s brother; MP YS Vivekananda Reddy has one acre land.

Nagarjuna has seven acres land there. An acre land costs Rs 25 crore at gurukul trust.

Nagarjuna is known for adventures. He had taken several risks in making films also. He is risk taker compared with his conservative father.

Tensions With Charan‘s Subsequent Film

We are talking about Ram Chanran‘s next film after the release of Rajamouli‘s flick. The standards of this film are so high that Ram Charan should take utmost care while signing on the subsequent film as it becomes very difficult to match the high standards with Rajamouli‘s film.

'Prathikshanam' completes first schedule

'Prathikshanam' is a suspense thriller starring Rambha in the lead role is being directed by debutant Vyas. Pallavi Srinivas is producing this film on Parijay Creations banner. The movie has completed its first schedule of shooting.

Speaking on this occasion producer said, "We have completed the first schedule on 25th with the shooting done at Hyderabad. During this schedule we have canned a song along with some prominent sequences. The song is featured on Ramba, Aravind and 60 dancers, was choreographed by Shobi."

'Kotha Bangaru Lokam' releases on 9th Oct

'Kotha Bangaru Lokam' starring 'Happy Days' fame Varun Sandesh and debutant Swetha Prasad in the lead cast, has been directed by Srikanth. Producer 'Dil' Raju is making this movie on Sri Venkateswara Creations banner which is set to be released on October 9th. Cinematography is done by Chota K. Naidu and the musical score by Mickey J. Mayer has acclaimed rave reviews after its launch recently. The makers organized a press meet to elucidate about the movie before its upcoming release.

As a cinematographer, I have rendered freshness in a new angle. I have drained my skills in this movie and piped out all the ideas which were at my disposal."

He said, "At first, it was Devi Sri Prasad who was set to compose but later he took the sideline and paved way for Mickey J. Mayer. We had a tough time to rope in a cameraman and finally Chota made it. The initial issues were left far behind after Chota and Srikanth got into a good rapport. The movie has been made a romantic entertainer which will hit screens on October 9th."
