'Parugu' is being brought out by Sri Venkateshwara Cine Creations banner and the director is the film is hopeful that this film will be as successful as 'Bommarillu'. Srivasu to direct under 'Dil' Raju

Lakshyam produced by Nallamalupu Srinivas (Bujji) starring Gopichand and Anushka in the lead with Srivasu debuting as director was a runaway hit.

The latest buzz is that Srivasu will do a film produced by 'Dil' Raju with a young hero in the lead. The film will be launched in the month of October, on Vijayadasami day.

Speculations are rife that 'Dil' Raju is trying hard to get NTR Jr’s dates for this movie.

Nayantara not happy!

The unexpected decision by the Chennai Super Kings Cricket Team to sack actress Nayantara from the post of their Ambassador has upset her fans and the actress too is not happy about the decision. But according to her manager she is yet to receive a written confirmation of the news. Nayantara has expressed her willingness to set right the issue through negotiable talks.

The contract with Chennai Super Kings Cricket Team states that she has to make an appearance at the star launch and team launch functions, interviews and talk shows and promotional videos, but there is no compulsion about the star's presence in all the matches. There is no valid reason for this termination, she emphasized. She doubted that some of the organizers wanted her out.

Recently the team management said in a press release that they had terminated Nayantara's contract because she was unable to meet her commitments of regular match appearances as a brand ambassador, due to her tight schedule. They further decided to go with a single star ambassador, Ilayathalapathy Vijay, who will continue to participate in all ground promotions and match appearances.

At present, Nayantara is simultaneously doing four movies in Kollywood, Mollywood and Tollywood – Sathyam and Kuselan in both Tamil and Telugu, Aegan with Ajith and the Malayalam movie Twenty: 20.

Gunde Jhallumandi nearing completion

The shooting of Gunde Jhallumandi, directed by Madan, presented by Paruchuri Kireeti and produced by Paruchuri Sivarama Prasad under United Movies banner, starring Udaykiran and Aditi Sarma, is almost complete.

Producer Sivarama says, “I happened to meet Madan after watching his films Aa Naluguru and Pellaina Kothalo. And when he narrated this story, I was very impressed. We launched the film on December 3rd and have so far completed 95 per cent of the shooting. It is a college love story, with a good scope for music too.”

Madan says, “Unlike my earlier films, there is no underlying message in this movie. It is basically a beautiful love story that touches the hearts of audiences. The characters in the film reflect the innocence in almost everyone.”

Music director Keeravani says, “Though I have given tunes to around 200 films, there are only some 25 films whose music I carry with me to listen to again. The songs in this film are in this list. For the first time, I have scored music for Udaykiran's film. I have prepared tunes keeping his image in mind.”

Udaykiran says, “After a long time, I am playing the part of a college student. I am sure that the film and my character will win the hearts of audiences.”

Ajay, Ahuti Prasad, Venumadhav, Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam, Surekha Vani and Madhumani are in the cast. Lyrics are penned by Sivashakti Datta and Chaitanya Prasad, camera is by Prabhakar Reddy J., art is by Nagendra Prasad and story, screenplay, dialogues are by Madan.

However, Pawan Kalyan fell a soup now as he personally promised to arrange dates to RB Choudary after 'Puli'. Distribution rights value surges higher

More famous the actors in the film field, everything attached with them increases in value. And if it is the superstar then there is no mention. After the release of Shivaji-the Boss the distribution rights for Rajini's film have increased many fold. The superstar of Kollywood is right now busy shooting 'Kucheludu' from Hyderabad. The film is being directed by P. Vasu and is being shot in two languages simultaneously. There is a lot of competition going on to purchase the distribution rights for this film. We have sources suggesting that there will be an auction for this! There is also news making the rounds that Pyramid Saimira has purchased the rights for the Tamil and Telugu version for this film for Rs. 64 crores. 'Katha Parayumbol' is the original version which has inspired movie people throughout the country. Rajini will play himself in this film with Kavithalaya producing the film in tamil and Ashwini Dutt producing the film in Telugu. The same film is being filmed in Hindi with SRK playing the lead role and titled 'Billu Barber'.

The film is being made under the banner of 'C.V. Arts Pvt. Ltd.' A sizzling item number is being filmed on Mumaith Khan, the maiden with oodles of sex appeal. The shooting has been going on from April 26 at the Rama Naidu Studios. The choreography for this song has been taken care of by Pradeep Anthony and the song is being filmed with young hero Prashanth and Mumaith. 'Citizen' is being made as a bilingual film and most of the filming is over but for this item number and one more song. The director seems to have decided to save the best for the last! C.V. Reddy is the producer of this film and he has conveyed to the press that the talkie part of the film is done. Two more songs need to be shot, out of which the one that is mentioned above is being filmed now. Hero Saikumar dons the role of a successful cop and the plot deals with what the cop does to the society as a citizen. The lead lady's role is essayed by Vaibhavi. The film is a reflection of the present day society. The director has also taken care to sustain the image that is usually projected by Saikumar. Ashish Vidyarthi, Jaiprakash Reddy and Ajay contribute to the other main characters in this film. If all goes as planned 'Citizen' will be released by the end of May.

Daler to sing a song for 'Kucheludu'

Noted Bhangra pop singer Daler Mehendi made his debut into the south Indian films by singing a song 'Rubber Gaajulu…' in 'Yamadonga' of Young Tiger NT Rama Rao. The song and also the film was a big hit. Now, this popular Bhangra pop singer rendered another song for a Tamil and Telugu film, 'Kucheludu' starring South Indian Super Star Rajinikanth. It is well aware that GV Prakash Kumar, the nephew of AR Rahman is scoring music for the flick. Presently, the film is choreographing a song at a huge set erected in Ramoji Film City on Rajinikanth and Nayanatara.It is learnt that the set, which reflects Egyptian culture was built under the supervision of art director Thota Tarani in just two weeks. Normally, erection of such huge sets would take more than three weeks, but Thota Tarani worked day and night to finish it before two weeks' time.

P Susheela bags Swaralaya award

Playback singer P. Susheela has been selected for this year’s Swaralaya-KPAC Sulochana Award. The award instituted in memory of K P A C Sulochana, the great theater playback artist, which carry a purse of Rs 50,000 is given to female playback artists. The award is given to P Susheela for the great contribution that the veteran artist had made to the growth of South Indian film music. Recognized as one of the greatest stars the world of south Indian cinema has ever known, Pulapaka Susheela, born in 1935 at Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh has recorded several songs in most of the Indian languages including Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada. In her career spanning about four decades, she received National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer five times in 1969, 1972, 1978, 1983 and 1984. In 2001, Andhra Pradesh Government honored her with the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award for lifetime achievement to Telugu Cinema. In 2005, she achieved Special Jury Swaralaya Yesudas Award for outstanding performance in music. She is also the latest recipient of Padmabhushan awards.

Sushant prepares for his second movie

Sushant, the nephew of Nagarjuna, who had made his debut with 'Kalidasu' recently is getting ready for his second film. Though 'Kalidasu' failed to shake the Box Office, he earned critical acclaim that he showed a fantastic ease in dances and fights. Several film critics suggested him that he had to improve his body language and style of expression. Despite all these comments, he is preparing for his second film. He had decided to change himself this time and trying to give a stylish appearance than his debut film in which he portrayed in a mass role. As per indications from the Film Nagar, another novice director is going to direct him. Now he is getting ready to direct 'King' of Nagarjuna. Sources in Film Nagar sources say, 'Sreenu Vaitla signed the dotted line to direct Balakrishna in the first half of 2009. Already Balakrishna had agreed to do a film under the direction of SS Rajamouli in 2008. Sreenu Vaitla's film with Balakrishna is likely to be produced by S Krishna Prasad of Sridevi Movies. The same banner had earlier produced several films with Balakrishna like, 'Aditya 369, Vamsanikokkadu and Bhalevadivi Basu' on the same banner.

Nagarjuna�s cameo in serial?

Nagarjuna produces a TV serial Yuva, directed by Chuniya under Annapurna Studios banner. The serial has good viewership and the actor plans to make a cameo appearance in the show. This will definitely send the TRP ratings of the show through the roof.

But this is not the first time that a celebrity has appeared on the show. Earlier, director S.S. Rajamouli appeared in a cameo. Anushka, the popular actress, is also expected to appear in the serial in a guest role as a hair stylist.

Ravi Teja in Yugandhar remake

Ravi Teja has acquired the nickname of 'Andhra Amitabh'. He will act in the remake of Yugandhar (Don in Hindi and Billa in Tamil). Mehar Ramesh will direct the film under the Rajarajeswari Combines banner. The film will hit the floors shortly.

Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth and N.T. Rama Rao have acted in the original versions of the movies.

Nayanatara acted in the Tamil remake opposite Ajith. She is being considered for the role in the Telugu version now.

Victory audio on May 7

The audio release function of the Nitin-Mamtha Mohandas starrer Victory will be held on May 7. Ravi Kumar of Samanuydu fame is the director and Acchi Reddy is the presenter.

Mumaith turns producer

Item girl Mumaith Khan won the hearts of Tollywood audiences with her sizzling dance numbers. Her song 'Ippatikinkaa Naa Vayasu Ninda Padahare...' is a must-be-performed song for any music and dance show these days.

On one hand, she is very busy with her item numbers; on the other hand, she grabbed the opportunity to play heroine. Her role in Operation Duryodhana earned her critical acclaim. Later, she was the heroine in a couple of other films. Though not prominent commercial hits, the films earned good openings and the producers recovered their investments without any losses.

To portray certain dream roles which she longs for, Mumaith is turning producer. She does not want to force others to make films of her choice; hence the decision to take up film production.

Jyothika starts to shoot

Jyothika has quashed all rumors and has confirmed her role in the short film being filmed on the theme based on "Education for the girl child." Though she has not started her confirmation to the press, people recently witnessed the actress walking along with a host of school children on the Marina beach, and this was being shot on camera.

After her marriage with actor Suriya and their baby Diya, this is Jyothika's first public appearance. The actress has not participated so far in any public events too. Her last film, before her marriage was 'Mozhi' that starred Prithviraj and Jyothika in the lead roles, and like any other films of Jyothika, this too was a super hit.

The idea of directing this short film was born when Suriya's Agaram Foundation and Tamil Nadu's Educational Department came together to make a film creating an awareness on the education to the girl child.

Though the world is, at one end, racing up with advancements one after the other, there are still some parts in the state were the girl children are treated differently from their boy counterparts.

There are many instances where the girl is pulled out of school rolls after she attains age.

This team has come forward to educate the public regarding the importance to educate the girl children. The short-film is being directed by V. Priya of 'Kanda Naal Mudhal' fame. Actor Suriya is one of the producers the film as well as will appear in the film along with wife Jyothika. The other stars who lent their support for this noble cause are Vijay and Madhavan.

Sridhar Reddy's film is 'Sneha Geetam'

It is well aware that Sridhar Reddy of Madhura Entertainment is turning a director and his film is likely to go to sets very soon. He announced the title of the film which he is going to direct at a press briefing recently. 'Sneha Geetam' is the title of the movie. The debutant director wanted to take fresh faces in the lead roles and he plans to conduct a talent search programme for the purpose in association with Zee Telugu channel. The film with love and friendship in its backdrop would go to sets in July this year.

The producer reportedly selected Sreenu Vaitla as director as he gave a blockbuster like 'Dhee' recently.

Presently, Balakrishna is busy with his film 'Pandurangadu' and after that he may likely to work in the direction of Gunasekhar for the film 'Sadhu'.

At the same time, Sreenu Vaitla is also presently busy with his film 'Ready (Denikaina)' with Ram of 'Devadasu'-fame. After this, Sreenu Vaitla agreed to do a film 'King' with Nagarjuna as hero.

In view of all these commitments, the film by Sridevi Movies may go to sets in December.

The combination of Balakrishna and Sreenu Vaitla could bring a good entertainer.

The shooting of 'Mallepuvvu' is going on at a good speed and as planned, in and around Hyderabad. The story of this film centers about a young and beautiful, pleasant woman who suddenly finds herself in a tight spot. The rest of the story deals with how the heroine of the film removes herself from the untoward happenings surrounding her and emerges victorious. The director has commented that Bhoomika is the best choice to play the lead in this film. He has also stated that this role that Bhoomika essays is quite different from all the other roles that she has done so far. Samudra is positive that this film will add more laurels to Bhoomika's acting career. 'Mallepuvvu' has eight songs in its entirety, all of which have been composed by the music maestro Ilayaraja. The tunes have come out melodiously. Veturi has supplied his lyrics to 'Mallepuvvu'. This film sees Murali Krishna, a new face, in the hero's role. The story has been penned by Ramesh Varma. 'Mallepuvvu' is being presented by P.Prasad Raju. The producers for this flick are S.Rajanarayana, Mohan, Vadapatla and Rafithunnisa Shek. The camera for this film is being handled by Anil Bhandari.

Three cheers at ‘Dasavatharam’ audio launch

Actors Jackie Chan, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan added glamour and glitz at the audio launch of ‘Dasavatharam’ on Friday.

Jackie Chan, the darling of the cine-buffs, with his endearing smile and humor caught the admiration of many. He even expressed his desire to do a movie with Kamal Haasan in Tamil.

Releasing the audio, Chief Minister M Karunanidhi highlighted the milestones in the Hong Kong-born actor's career. 'It is noteworthy that an actor of international repute known for his prowess in action considers fire service personnel to be real heroes,' he said.

He also made an interesting comparison between Jackie and Kamal. He pointed out that both were born in the year 1954 and both took to films when they were children.

Amitabh Bachchan said, “Kamal was an actor par excellence. He springs surprises”.

On his part, Kamal Haasan said, he and director K S Ravikumar had been reluctant to give out information about the film. They wanted the suspense to remain.

Malayalam actor Mammooty said, “We work really hard to play one role and here is an actor who has played 10 characters. It is amazing”.

Actresses Hema Malini, Jayapradha, Asin and Mallika Sherawat sizzled the audience.

The auditorium was filled with Kamal Haasan's fans, who cheered whenever his name was mentioned.

The trailer was screened on the occasion, which was applauded all the way.

Pawan's New Film "PULI"

Pawan Kalyan is now getting ready to act in the forthcoming Puli. S.J. Suryah (hero of Viyabari, Kazhvanin Kadhali) who directed Khushi fame, is the director.

Pawan will play the role of a police officer. Shooting will commence shortly. The suspense over the heroine continues. Reports say that there would be two heroines in the film.

Pawan was very impressed with Parvathi Melton's acting in Khushi. He is reported to have recommended her for Puli. An official announcement is however yet to be made.
